Blizzard News – World of Warcraft Cataclysm MMORPG Expansion
WoW Expansion Cataclysm Announced by Blizzard
This week at Blizzard’s fourth BlizzCon conference, Blizzard made an exciting announcement to fans of the massively successful MMORPG World of Warcraft. Blizzard released the news that there would be a major upcoming expansion for the game with World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.
Cataclysm is promised to be the third major expansion for World of Warcraft and is sure to add a new mix of gameplay and adventure to keep the game fresh for new players and long time subscribers.
The expansion pack will feature the dragon Aspect Deathwing which suddenly reigns down on the land from a long underground slumber. Deathwing will lay waste to the face of Azeroth, and will alter the balance of power in the game.
Along with these events comes the advent of heroes and villains into the game, as well as additional game elements including two new races (goblins and worgen), a new level cap of 85, and new game zones which reflect Deathwing’s destruction.
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm will also feature new zones including a sunken city, it will implement new battleground zones for PVP combat, and offer new classes and professions including archeology.
The release for this highly anticipated expansion if not yet known, but we are guessing Blizzard will have this ready in time for gamers this holiday season! (Q4 2009)
Heroes Masi Oka Producing a MMORPG Movie “The Defenders”

Heroes Hiro, Set to Produce an MMORPG Film Inspired by WoW
Masi Oka who plays Hiro on the hit television series Heroes is getting set to produce his own movie.
Reports indicate that the Transformers writers Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci are in the process of creating a new family adventure movie called The Defenders which was inspired by an idea from Oka.
The script is being written by Gary White and D.J. Caruso director of the film Suburbia may be directing the project.
Rumor has it that Masi Oka came up with the idea for the film while playing World of Warcraft. It sounds as though his real life personality may not be that much different from his on screen persona as Hiro, with the exception of being able to bend space and time.
The Defenders will be about a group of teenagers playing a MMORPG who are forced together through real life events for an adventure that goes far beyond a mouse and keyboard.
As of now there is no confirmation that Masi Oka will be in the movie, but he is slated to be executive producer on the project.
Blizzard Reveals Lich King Systems Requirements
Is Your System Ready for the Next WoW Expansion?
Blizzard has finally announced the system requirements for the latest expansions to their insanely popular MMORPG World of Warcraft. The good news is for long time players you will not need to upgrade your rig to play the latest addition to the game.
For the most part the requirements look like those you would find for running any type of current software. A 1.5GHZ CPU is recommended along with 1GB of memory. Windows XP or Vista along with the service pack updates and video card with a recommended 128mb of video memory.
This is pretty standard stuff people. Blizzard has always had a way of making their games highly playable and the trend continues with Blizzards latest installment of WoW.
