New Details on the Nintendo DS Game from Rockstar

If you are a DS owner I’m sure have been patiently awaiting the release of Rockstar’s latest offering the Grand Theft Auto Series called Chinatown Wars.

In a new interview with IGN Rockstar gives us some insight into all the latest and happening with their newest title for the series. DS owners who have had limited options so far with more “mature” titles on the Nintendo DS are sure to enjoy the latest offering for adult gamers.

Rockstar Games is well known for its success with the Grand Theft Auto series and the controversy that always seems to surround the release of their titles. We are hoping that the Nintendo DS version of the game does not compromise the formula that has made the GTA series such a highly successful franchise.

Grand Theft Auto IV is the Root of All Evil!

Got Problems? Blame them on Grand Theft Auto IV… It’s trendy!

They say history repeats itself every 20 years, but in the case of Rockstar games it is more like every four. With the recent release of their latest title in the Grand Theft Auto series, Rockstar has once again given activist groups something to live for.

An article published today by PC World, outlines a number of groups that are already pushing hard to try and get yet another GTA title pulled from store shelves.

Rants Begin Against Grand Theft Auto IV

The article states that “activist groups, police, politicians, and surviving victims of violence criticized Grand Theft Auto 4 last week” saying “[it] is not a game, and it is not a joke.”

This time around GTA IV even has features that will allow MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) to get in on the action, in Rockstar’s new campaign called “No Activist Left Behind!”

Now here is where I get a little confused on the whole issue. I used to get frustrated with games when I was younger and my parents would tell me “it’s just a game”, yet now I am being told “it’s not a game”? I also remember how my parents used to say “Turn off those damn games and go study! You’re not going to learn anything from a game!” yet now we are being told that GTA IV “doesn’t exactly teach the kind of things that you’d want to teach your kids.”

So I am left scratching my head? Were my parents wrong for trying to instill values in me, as opposed to sitting me down in front of the idiot box with a joystick in my hand? When did we stop relying on good old fashioned parenting to teach our kids the difference between right and wrong?

Now I am no activist and I am definitely not a politician, but I for one am glad that these groups are shining some light on the true downfall of society. We need to focus hard on how much video games are affecting our nation’s well being, instead of our multibillion dollar debt, a war with no end in sight and an all time record number of homeless families living in the US.

Once we have resolved the Grand Theft Auto IV issue everything else should just fall into place.

With that being said I need to wrap up this post because I just found out GameStop has one copy of GTA IV left in stock! I will do my part and buy this game to keep it off the streets, where it can do no harm.
