The Electric Car Company that will provide Energy Independence to America.

Tesla Motors Electric Luxury Sports Cars

Ok, so maybe I am jumping to conclusions but that is the hope here. Tesla Motors is a business startup car manufacturer that is focusing on producing high quality luxury electric cars.

The work they are doing is pretty amazing, and has attracted the attention of investors like Larry Page and Sergey Brin, who started a small company named “Google” that you might have heard of.

With the backing of large contributors like Google, Tesla Motors has thus far kept from offering a stock option to the public, to avoid any conflicts of interest that occur when companies like Chevron purchase stock (and patents) for the sole purpose of killing competing technologies that will take money away from the oil industry.

From what I have read much of the technology that is being used by Tesla Motors has been built or expanded on by the company in an effort to avoid outside influence on the project. They have managed to create a beautiful automobile that can get a reported 220 miles per charge.

All I can say is when you are creating something that is significant enough that it gets noticed by Larry and Sergey you know you are on the right track. The company has said that several Tesla Motors cars are now on the road, owned by financial backers and higher ups in the company, but that the public should see the first releases to consumers within the next year.

Inside of a Tesla Motors Electric CarBe ready to dish out some serious cash for one of these cars those. Their current line of “luxury” electric cars has a waiting list of about 125+ people. To even get onto this waiting list you need to put down a $60K deposit to show you are a serious buyer. Once the cars are ready for sale you can anticipate spending about $100K on the 2009 model and about 150K+ on the 2010.

As I mentioned before these are electric sports cars, so do not expect to see them produce the first family friendly electric car. If you are looking for something like that you should check out the Chevy Volt set to debut in 2010. If you are looking for a luxury car that can go from 0 to 60 in 3.9 seconds Tesla Motors may be jus the thing you are looking for.
