Classic Game Fans are in for a Treat with the Latest Wii Announcement

Are you old enough that you remember playing the original Nintendo with friends for hours on end. If so you are probably familiar with a little game called Rygar, one of the classic release on the original NES console system.

For those who don’t know Rygar was a “radical” game that came out in the 1980’s for the Nintendo Entertainment system. It featured a great hero, some killer music, and one of the coolest weapons seen in games of that time.

Well the 1980’s classic is about to debut on the Nintendo Wii with Rygar: Battle of Arguss. I saw some screenshots today and I must say the game is looking better than ever. I can’t wait to play it and see what they have done with this classic title.

It looks like hardcore gamers will have a few more things to look forward to in the coming months as the game announcements just keep getting better and better. For more information on Rygar checkout the entire article at 1up.com.

NEC SuperGrafx Coming to Nintendo Wii

For all the old school gamers out there that may be old enough to remember the days of TurboGrafx 16 you are in for a treat with the Nintendo Wii’s latest offering in the Virtual Console market place on the Wii Online Store.

Nintendo will be making the NEC SuperGrafx available on the virtual console along with the few games that were available for the system before NEC cut their loses and called it quits in the console arena.

While this may not be the most exciting news to some, it is great to see all the old consoles from our childhood being brought back for a second spin around the block. Not only can we enjoy the nostalgia of the systems we grew up with but younger games can experience a piece of gaming history in the comfort of their own homes.

A Remake of the Classic Resident Evil Game for the Nintendo Wii?

If you were following the news of the Resident Evil remake of the original game for the Wii and hoping to get your hands on it in time for Christmas or by early next year you are pretty much out of luck.

Capcom Development lead Christian Svensson stated that right now the game is slated only to release in Japan, with no current plans for an American release due to the success (or lack their of) of Resident Evil 0 in America.

We can only see what will happen if we complain and beg enough in the coming months to see if we can make Capcom understand our need for a fix, on the original classic in the Resident Evil series.

There is an article at Joystiq with the full details on the announcement that can be found here.
