After Much Research I Have Found a Great New Host
As some of you may know I have been looking around for a new web host for a client of mine. The first host I set them up with (which shall remain nameless) turned out to be terrible as far as reliability and service issues.
I have been looking around for a new host that will provide good service at an affordable price. My client does not want to spend more than they were previously paying just to keep their website online.
While I was looking around I found some good resources for web host ratings and reviews. I mentioned one of them in a previous post. I came across another great host review page at web hosting rating. They offer reviews and summaries on some of the best web hosts out there and rank them on quality, price and features.
One great feature on their site is their web hosting articles section. It outlines many of the considerations that should be made when choosing a new web host. I have been weighing a lot of different factors to make sure that I don’t get stuck with the same type of service as last time, so their ratings and articles have been a really great help.
If you are looking for new web hosting that offers the best service you should definitely check out their site. The summaries they offer make it easy to sort through rankings and decide what host is best for you.
Now that I have some great options for a new host I need to switch my client’s site over to a service that will offer hassle free hosting. Choosing a host can be kind of a crapshoot so it is a good idea to do your homework beforehand.

Hey all. You will probably notice that I haven’t posted in a few days. I have been running into some issues with another site I maintain for a client. The current host that the site is on has been up and down for the past few days and has been giving SQL database errors when you try to modify content on the site.
Needless to say this has been causing a lot of issues for me, and my client. I decided to switch their site over to a new host so I have been looking around for good, affordable hosting. While I was researching new hosts, I came across a great site called “Web Hosting Geeks”. If you are looking for good hosting at a low price you should check out their site.
The site offers reviews and summaries on some of the best cheap hosting options out there. It’s pretty easy to use because they break down the site reviews by ranking, and offer their picks for the top 10 web hosts available.
One page I found very useful was their “Free Domain Names” section. Since many of my clients are only using their hosting for one website, this works great for them because there is no additional cost to secure their domain name.

EntreCard is Back Online after Fire at Hosting
EntreCard is backup and running after a fire at their hosting.
For those who use EntreCard you probably noticed that is was down from Saturday afternoon until Monday morning.
The message on their site informed people that a fire had broke out at their hosting company causing the company to shut down in order to address an issue of faulty power transformers.
As of today EntreCard is back up and running so you can all get back to dropping your cards. I have just recently started reading some articles about Power Dropping and was looking into some good ways of doing this when their server went down on Saturday.
