I cam across an interesting article today on IGN talking about Gears of War could become the next Halo. There was some very interesting points comparing similarities and differences of the two games, along with game play mechanics and story like.
I think that while these two games are so very different there are a lot of things that remain the same between the two titles.
The article was an interesting read if you have ever drawn the comparisons between the two games along with the things we have noticed in the way Microsoft marketed Gears of War. They did it in almost a viral way like they did with Halo 2.

Fans of Gears of War get yet Another Glimpse of the Upcoming Title
Sure you have heard of it. Gears of War… The massively popular title for Xbox and PC that had a viral advertising campaign that swept the nation with is slow, haunting piano music. Well developers are back at the game with an entirely new adventure in Gear of War 2 for Xbox 360.
For those who have played the original, I am sure you are waiting with baited breath for the release of this new addition to the series which will continue the battle where it left off in the first one.
I personally really liked Gear of War as it was a great party game to play with friends over a few beers while blasting your way through hoards of Locust. Whether you are knew to the series of an avid fan the excitement building around the new title should lead to a good turn out on release.
